Prepare to be transported on a riveting journey through time with a work in progress sharing for a new piece of theatre from critically acclaimed Wonder Fools, co-created with a group of young people from across Dumfries and Galloway. Enter the world of Flora, a spirited teenager from Castle Douglas, who whilst running away stumbles upon a fair run by the legendary Billy Marshall. The fair is a place in which time stands still - Billy supposedly died in 1792 and yet here he is in 2023. This gripping new theatre show explores themes around community, myth, legend, and morality whilst telling the extraordinary story of Billy Marshall who across his 120 year life participated in some of the most significant historical events that shaped modern Scotland. Created in Wonder Fools' distinctive theatrical style fusing music, movement and storytelling, this is a sharing of the work in late October ahead of a full production in autumn 2024.
