Theatre Royal Dumfries are looking to expand their network of freelance artists who work on their youth arts and education programme.
After a long closure due to the Coronavirus Pandemic Theatre Royal Dumfries is reopening with a renewed focus on community building and youth engagement. We are committed to providing and supporting children and young people of all backgrounds across Dumfries and Galloway with the opportunity to experience and engage in the theatrical arts. We believe that theatre and the wider arts are hugely beneficial, developing confidence and self-expression and improving both communication and creative skills. Moving forward into a post-pandemic world, Theatre Royal Dumfries is dedicated to putting high quality arts provision for young people at the centre of its’ remit.
Theatre Royal Dumfries are looking to expand their network of freelance artists who work on their youth arts and education programme. We are looking for artists from any discipline (theatre, music, dance, circus etc.) who are passionate about what they do and share in our vision.
We are looking to connect with artists from across the Dumfries and Galloway region and further afield. We’d encourage expressions of interest from freelancers of any level of experience of working with children and young people. In particular, we’d like invite artists from underrepresented groups to get in touch.
We’re hoping to create a database of freelancers working in youth arts across the Dumfries and Galloway region, which will allow us to connect with new artists and offer more employment opportunities in the future.
We invite interested freelancers to send a recent CV and expression of interest (a short description of your experience/ interest in working with us) to education@theatreroyaldumfries.co.uk by 11.55pm on July 4th 2021.
