The Lady Boys of Bangkok are delighted to announce that the world’s shortest full time drag queen Jamie John (aka Miss DQ) has joined the cast for The Greatest Showgirls Tour 2019!
Strictly star Vincent Simone and actor Warwick Davis are amongst the celebrities who’ve pledged their support for the performer by sending him video messages congratulating him on his new role.
The 29-year-old will be making his first ever appearance with us this year, fresh from starring in the London Palladium’s pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs alongside Dawn French and Julian Clary.
Jamie will be teaming up with long-standing cast member Ole for the show’s side-splitting comedy sketches for The Lady Boys of Bangkok 2019 tour, this iconic world famous cabaret show has now been seen by over 3,500,000 people and tours the UK from February to November in its own pink Sabai pavilion, complete with two bars and a restaurant, whilst the equipment is moving between the city centre venues we play at over 50 theatres per season,
Standing at just 4ft 8”, show bosses are currently appealing for help to get Jamie an outfit for the famous Scottish encore finale in official Lady Boys of Bangkok registered tartan.
Jamie said: “I’m delighted to be joining the iconic show The Lady Boys of Bangkok. To be able to perform every night with such a talented and professional group of artistes is an amazing experience.
“It’s a privilege to be joining the show on its 21st year and I am looking forward to touring with sixteen of the world’s most glamourous showgirls – who just happen to be men!”
The Lady Boys of Bangkok’s tour of Scotland got off to a slightly bumpy start last week when the tour bus broke down on the way to Dundee for opening night.
But the show did go on and Jamie kept everyone’s spirits high on the replacement coach by teaching the cast If You’re Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands.
This year The Lady Boys of Bangkok features tributes to showgirls Kylie, Beyonce, J-Lo, Madonna, Whitney Houston and Rihanna.
