Wind Resistance Workshop

27 May @ 10:00-11:30am

A rare peek into the writing and making of Karine Polwart’s theatre-performance Wind Resistance comes to the festival this year.

The four-times winner of BBC Radio Two Scots Trad Musician of the Year will share some of her techniques and processes for gathering, generating and structuring ideas, images, stories and songs for this intricate piece.

There will be a chance to hear snippets of songs and scenes that didn’t make the final performance, but which helped to build it.

And Karine will also offer a glimpse into her forthcoming album A Pocket of Wind Resistance, which includes new songs inspired by the show’s themes.

Please bring a pen and paper. There will be time for a Q&A also.

This event is hosted as part of Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival

BRAT Teatro will be visiting the Theatre Royal this June and are delivering a masterclass workshop in Commedia Dell'Arte.

The class will feature a talk on the history of Commedia Dell'Arte as an art form and the traditions involved.

Places on the workshop are £30 per person and are limited in number.
