Friday 10th November 2017 will be an unmissable evening at the beautiful Theatre Royal in Dumfries when ‘The Fever’ takes to the stage.
In their first visit to the the Theatre Royal, this good time trio, with a real vintage vibe, will be performing a wonderful range of songs from genres including jazz and blues - made famous by Ella Fitzgerald; Fats Waller; Imelda May; and Joe Bonamassa.
The band features the indisputable talents of highly experienced musicians - Andy McMillan from Dumfries; with Doug Carroll and Mary Barclay from Dalbeattie. Having played a major part in Dumfries & Galloway’s music scene for many years, Andy, Doug and Mary formed ‘The Fever’ in 2016. Since then, the trio has received high praise with many prestigious gigs already under their belt and more to come, including an appearance at Callander Jazz and Blues Festival.
Andy provides a full-bodied groove on his double bass with Doug showing flair and expertise on his jazz guitar. Mary’s voice is simply stunning - dynamic; warm and rich - perfectly suited to the band’s chosen material. With great vocal harmonies abound and their endearing rapport, they have it all.
