A project by Joana Gama, Luís Fernandes and Ricardo Jacinto.
Under the title HARMONIES - the title of a set of harmonic studies composed by Satie - the trio'ss original music is based on fragments of his compositions.
This procedure was also extended to the appropriation of the ruins of other materials which orbited his music. These include both his calligraphic exercises and score instructions. Piano, cello and electronics are joined by a fourth element: an allusion to Francis Picabia’s scenario for the ballet Relâche, for which Satie wrote the original score in 1924.
This is here recovered in a scenographic-instrumental object, acting as an independent sound source resonating some of the trio's music: a body filter.
